Avandia May Cause Heart Failure

A Regular Alcoholic Drink May Reduce the Risk of Heart Attack for Women

Moderation is obviously the key to alcohol consumption, but a new study by epidemiologists at the University of Buffalo shows that women who regularly enjoy an alcoholic drink or two have a significantly lower risk of having a non-fatal heart attack than women who are life-time abstainers. Heart Valve Recipient Climbs Mt. Everest

A 56-year-old Swiss chemist is believed to be the first climber implanted with a heart valve to successfully ascend Everest. After her fourth try to climb Everest (all others were thwarted due to circumstances unrelated to her heart condition), Veronika Meyer and her guides planted flags with St. Judes Medical logo at the top of the tallest mountain in the world. Heart Pateints Should be Eating “Oily” Fish 2 to 4 Times a Week

Salmon, Trout, and fresh Tuna are a few fish that are considered "oily." The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence believe that heart patients should be eating 2 to 4 portions of oily fish weekly. Top Ranked Hospitals

In a report released Tuesday, US News and World Reports ranked America's top hospitals. The 14 that made the honor roll had at least six specialties. Reputation, Mortality, and Other Factors were the all ranked on a point system. The report was originally created in 1990 to help people find the best treatment centers that take on and excel at tough procedures and conditions.
